Everyone quotes the size of the USA Pickleball approved paddle list; almost nobody counts it. We did, entry by entry, from the public list itself, added dates included. This page is the running count: how many paddles are approved right now, how fast the list is growing, and how concentrated the brands behind it really are. It gets re-counted when we re-verify, and the change log shows every count.
Counted 1 October 2026, directly from the USA Pickleball approved paddle list, all 215 pages of it. If you are citing the size or growth of the approved list anywhere, you are welcome to link or quote this page with credit. We can share the underlying data on request.

Additions peaked in 2024, when 1,298 models were approved in a single year. The pace has since fallen by more than half: 941 in 2025 and 427 through 1 October 2026. We track the numbers, not the causes, but the slowdown coincides with the fee increases and tightened performance testing recorded in our fee tracker, and with brand formation itself slowing, which we count separately in the brand index.
Brand concentration
The list reads like an index of the whole industry: 1,381 brands, but a long tail. The top ten brands hold 14% of all approved models, and 924 brands have only one or two models approved, which is the clearest public signature of how many small and one-off paddle projects go through certification. Every one of those 1,381 brands is searchable, with its model count and dates, in our paddle brand index.
